Luton Angling Club - Wednesday Match Group

​

The Wednesday group are a group of Club members who meet most weeks through the year and fish on our Club waters with visits to commercials and other clubs’ venues. Our primary aim is to help each other enjoy our fishing. Many regulars are retired, some work shifts, and others just come along when they can. We aim to be a friendly, welcoming, inclusive group of anglers of all ages and abilities, from novice to experienced anglers who are happy to share skills.

 

We meet every week (except January) to fish. Each week we exchange ideas, enjoy the company, have a chat and a laugh, whatever the weather. We have a nominal £1.00 peg fee and a £5.00 optional pools.

There are lots of reasons to join in with us, some older anglers feel safer fishing in company, some want to make new friends, others want to improve their skills, many like the idea of the competition.

 

We have a league and also hold some interclub events for variety and we run a Christmas match in December each year where every angler fishing brings a present of £10.00 or more value for another angler.

Our provisional forward program is shown below but it’s always worth checking for last minute changes due to rivers being flooded or works taking place on the Canal requiring us to change venues.
